We strive for 100% closed resource and product cycles. By 2050 at the latest, NOBELMIN plans to close its product and resource cycles and avoid waste at the end of the product’s life.

NOBELMIN focuses on renewable raw materials:
In the development of compounds, NOBELMIN specializes in bioplastics that are either made from renewable raw materials such as corn, wheat or sugar cane, or consist of other plastics that are considered biodegradable in the sense of being compostable under industrial conditions.
Bioplastics today are often offered as blends, usually consisting of compounds with biobased and a biodegradable fossil fraction. “Pure” bioplastics – without fossil components – will increasingly replace these blends.
In any case, where plastics are needed, they should replace conventional plastics in the long term. The use of renewable resources allows more efficient use of raw materials, as the relevant plants grow back in the short term. The development at NOBELMIN is based precisely on this, in which we lower the CO2 footprint of our products and reduce greenhouse gases.

For this reason, NOBELMIN’s environmental management covers the entire life cycle of our products, i.e. from research and development through purchasing, logistics and production to use and recycling. In view of dwindling raw materials, the aim is to develop products and solutions that consume less energy and conserve our natural resources – both in manufacturing and in the use of our products.
