NOBELMIN is a company committed to exceptional performance and high standards, not only in terms of technology, but also in terms of adhering to the “rules of the game” of good and fair conduct in competition and in our dealings with our employees, customers and business partners.
We see ourselves as an innovative supplier of talc-based fillers and compounds that help industrial customers improve their performance while reducing their environmental impact.
We aim to create value for our stakeholders by meeting the needs of our customers, our employees and the public. We want to reduce our own environmental impact. We want to make our contribution to eco-efficiency and participate in charitable environmental projects within our means.
Our products and services contribute to helping our customers reduce their energy consumption and their use of natural resources.
The Environmental Policy is an important part of NOBELMIN’s sustainability commitment, which is embedded in our strategies, processes and day-to-day operations.
Our sustainability focus is part of NOBELMIN’s commitment to responsible business practices, which are at the heart of our corporate philosophy based on integrity and transparency. Our framework is underpinned by our Code of Conduct, which guides our employees and suppliers to do the right thing.
To ensure that we can meet our sustainability goals in the long term, we have set milestones and integrated them into our decision-making processes to drive action and show the progress of our efforts. Our sustainability strategy is based on the pillars:
1. Reduction of CO2 emissions up to CO2 neutrality
2. Integrity and transparency throughout the value chain
At NOBELMIN, we want to do the right thing and be transparent at all levels of our value chain. Performance is measured not only by the results achieved, but also by how those results were achieved.
A culture of integrity is a prerequisite for a world-class business, and NOBELMIN`s strength and future success depend on our reputation as a trustworthy and reliable business partner.
We remain committed to our integrity program and activities to support transparency in our global communications. Various aspects of our Code of Conduct and policies ensure that our integrity program is adopted by our employees, suppliers and partners, and that we also embed this behavior into all our business processes with our customers through prevention, detection and resolution.
The main pillar of our approach is our Code of Conduct, which guides our employees to do the right thing – follow the law, act according to ethical principles and treat each other with respect – and underpins our commitments to ethical behavior and human rights.
We want to ensure that people at every level of our organization and value chain can speak up and contribute to continuous improvement.
3. Thinking and acting in terms of the circular economy
We strive for 100% closed resource and product cycles. By 2050 at the latest, NOBELMIN plans to close its product and resource cycles and avoid waste at the end of the product’s life.
NOBELMIN is committed to preserving resources and materials for as long as possible. Our goal is to stop sending waste to landfills. By reusing products, remanufacturing or recycling, we sustainably conserve our planet’s resources and close material loops.
Circular economy will be the economic model of the future. Thinking in cycles and acting accordingly can help make limited resources infinitely usable, making the economy sustainable for the world’s growing and increasingly affluent population.
It means more than a commitment to sustainability, but entails redesigning many products with the goal of recovering resources. This will be accompanied by a shift to new business models, something we are already preparing for.
With increasing momentum, circular economies of individual companies are transforming into an integrated ecosystem in which partners in the value chain work together.
This allows biological, technical, and product cycles to run smoothly and efficiently. NOBELMIN’s early commitment to shaping and driving this transformation creates a competitive advantage for us and sets the course for our future viability.
NOBELMIN focuses on renewable raw materials:
In the development of compounds, NOBELMIN specializes in bioplastics that are either made from renewable raw materials such as corn, wheat or sugar cane, or consist of other plastics that are considered biodegradable in the sense of being compostable under industrial conditions.
Bioplastics today are often offered as blends, usually consisting of compounds with biobased and a biodegradable fossil fraction. “Pure” bioplastics – without fossil components – will increasingly replace these blends.
In any case, where plastics are needed, they should replace conventional plastics in the long term. The use of renewable resources allows more efficient use of raw materials, as the relevant plants grow back in the short term. The development at NOBELMIN is based precisely on this, in which we lower the CO2 footprint of our products and reduce greenhouse gases.
4. Economy and ecology in harmony
For us, economy and ecology are not a contradiction, but the basis for sustainable value creation at NOBELMIN. Climate protection and energy efficiency are at the heart of our environmental strategy.
All our products should actively contribute to the protection of our environment and our resources. Sustainability is at the core of our entrepreneurial activities.
It determines our responsible business practices, our risk management approach and our technological contribution to climate protection, resource conservation and product safety in the interests of future generations.
In manufacturing, we want to continuously reduce energy consumption, CO2 emissions and waste generation, and we want to increase the recycling rate of operational waste.
For this reason, NOBELMIN’s environmental management covers the entire life cycle of our products, i.e. from research and development through purchasing, logistics and production to use and recycling. In view of dwindling raw materials, the aim is to develop products and solutions that consume less energy and conserve our natural resources – both in manufacturing and in the use of our products.
NOBELMIN – Guidelines on conflict minerals/substances
NOBELMIN is committed to the harmonious implementation of environmental protection and economic activity. We are committed to promoting the health, safety and security of people who come into contact with our products and business. We demand high social, environmental and human rights standards from our suppliers.
Meeting our commitments regarding conflict minerals and materials is part of this corporate responsibility.
“At NOBELMIN, we embed sustainability into everything we do to create long-term value. That starts with helping our customers reduce their emissions and conserve resources where we have the greatest impact, and extends to our own operations, our suppliers and the communities we serve. We always strive to be a model corporate citizen wherever we operate.”
