NOBELMIN talc enhances and strengthens the product and production properties of a wide variety of plastics through optimized use of materials.
As a result, the use of NOBELMIN in plastics technology offers significant advantages due to the following potential improvements:
- Improved stiffness, increase in flexural modulus, increase in tensile strength and reinforcement
- Increase in heat deflection temperature,
- Reduced shrinkage of molded parts and reduced coefficients of thermal expansion,
- Improved long-term heat aging due to high purity and low iron and heavy metal content (compared to other talcs),
- Highly efficient nucleating agent in semi-crystalline polymers (by using Nobelmin talc as a nucleating additive, strength and final properties are achieved after a shorter time due to faster and more uniform crystallization at a higher crystallization temperature)
- Shorter cycle times in production due to the increase in crystal nucleation rates,
- Poorer flammability, increased flame resistance, high chemical resistance,
- High electrical resistance and electrical durability
- Reduction of viscosity and facilitation of the production process in the manufacture of rubber compounds and the processing of molded parts,
- Improvement of bubble formation in foamed products
- Reduction of adhesion and blocking tendency of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) Antiblocking effect in coatings
- Anti-blocking effect in coatings
Our series of products offer the best performance in terms of purity, whiteness, and physical properties. Combined with the large specific surface area and high aspect ratio, NOBELMIN talc products are particularly well suited for a wide range of polyolefin and plastic applications.
Therefore, NOBELMIN talc, with its physical and chemical properties, represents an ideal filler or excellent extender, especially for polypropylene.
Thus, NOBELMIN talc is also widely used in other olefin-based thermoplastic elastomers (TPOs), impact-resistant copolymers and homopolymers, or in plastic automotive parts for use “under the hood”( cf. temperature stability). These products are also widely used in coatings, foams, etc.
NOBELMIN products can therefore be used in particular with the following polymer systems:
- Olefin-based thermoplastic elastomers (TPO)
- Coatings of interlocking low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE).
- Polyethylene and polystyrene foams (PE and PS foams)
- Polypropylene homopolymers and copolymers
- Nylon Polyester
- Epoxy resins
A special NOBELMIN product series has also been developed to meet specific requirements. These fine to ultra-fine products result in an optimum balance between stiffness and impact strength or notched impact strength, processing difficulties have been minimized without affecting the distribution properties in the plastic matrix.
High-quality raw materials allow these products to be used in applications where the color of the finished plastic parts is also of crucial importance.
The use of compacted products opens up new opportunities for compounders and masterbatch manufacturers at the same time:
- Increased throughput rates
- The option for a higher loading of the polymer matrix with talcum
- More uniform talc dosage
- Reduced dust formation in the plant
- Cost advantages due to reduction in shipping cost
For the manufacturer of plastic parts and the end customer, the high functionality of the filler also means:
- Optimal balance between stiffness and impact
- Excellent product color
- Improved LTHA (long term thermal aging)
