Taking responsibility – Nobelizing at Nobelmin
For us, “Nobelizing – Made in Germany” also stands as a synonym for sustainability, efficiency, fairness, top quality and resource-saving growth. These attributes are an integral part of NOBELMIN’s corporate strategy and at the same time a commitment to our business partners, customers and employees. For us, sustainability and business success are inextricably linked.
Sustainable value creation is an integral part of our corporate strategy, which aims to provide innovative solutions, contribute to positive development in society, and enable long-term as well as profitable growth.

“Nobelizing at Nobelmin” stands for integrity, which customers, suppliers and business partners can trust.
Legality, fair competition and fair dealings with business partners and employees are therefore indispensable elements of successful business activity for the company. For this purpose, an open and appreciative corporate culture is crucial, which at NOBELMIN ensures that errors are named, exposed and corrected.
For this purpose, NOBELMIN has developed a Code of Conduct in 2020, which describes risks in business activities, gives concrete recommendations for behavior, is binding for management and all employees.
It covers topics such as fair treatment of colleagues and business partners, product safety or environmental protection, and explicitly recognizes international labor standards (ILO standards).
Products and value chain
“Nobelizing at Nobelmin” stands for the promise of quality, innovation, safety, reliability and responsibility – and for many, the name NOBELMIN also stands for greater sustainability and increased environmental awareness.
Product safety and quality as well as taking responsibility in the supply chain are self-evident for us. “Nobelizing at Nobelmin” means for us not only product responsibility, but also that our products are effective and safe. This includes responsible consideration and design of the value chain from a raw material supplier to recycling.
Product safety and quality
At NOBELMIN, product safety and quality begins with the development of compounds, accompanies the procurement and production process, and is an essential aspect of customer application.
The guarantee of product safety and quality is based on a large number of standards and customer-specific specifications for the development, production and sale of products. Defective products can cause great damage, especially for the user, but is also important for the reputation of the company.
NOBELMIN is committed to the consistent implementation of all applicable laws concerning the safety of products in use and disposal. For this purpose, NOBELMIN GmbH has installed a quality management system that is based on the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015.
Social responsibility in the supply chain
Due to the high value-added contribution in the supply chain, the procurement of raw materials is a key process for success. As NOBELMIN GmbH, we source our raw materials exclusively from suppliers who are committed to complying with environmental, health, and safety standards in procurement, processing, and export and who have already demonstrated reliability and sustainability in international competition.
We maintain close personal contacts with all our important suppliers, who have developed a high level of trust in the international market with reliability and sustainability. Thus, ecological and social aspects play a decisive role in the selection of and cooperation with suppliers.
The provisions of the internationally recognized Code of Conduct of the “Responsible Business Alliance” (RBA) apply to NOBELMIN suppliers as minimum standards for human rights, health and safety, environmental protection and business ethics. The RBA Code of Conduct is based on the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights of the United Nations (UN) and on international human rights standards such as those of the ILO.
As NOBELMIN GMbH, we expect all suppliers who have a direct business relationship with the company to comply with the minimum standards of the Code or a comparable code.
To this end, NOBELMIN applies the following standards in selecting and reviewing supplier management as part of a risk-based approach:
- New suppliers are selected on the basis of a self-disclosure that takes into account occupational safety, environmental protection, and energy efficiency as well as recognition of the RBA Code of Conduct or a comparable code.
- For suppliers with a significant share in NOBELMIN’s value creation, a so-called supplier audit takes place on site, taking into account a supplementary risk assessment. The aim is to get to know existing and future partners better and to discover and eliminate possible weak points in the supply chain.
- Key suppliers are assessed to determine whether there are any potential sustainability risks depending on the context. In order to plan further activities, prioritization is carried out and options for action are elicited. In this way, further steps can be defined, e.g., conducting a sustainability audit on site or piloting development measures.
Environment
Effective environmental and climate protection as well as the responsible use of natural resources are a central concern for us at NOBELMIN GmbH. A key lever for environmental protection and resource conservation is the efficient use of materials and energy – from product development through manufacturing and distribution to application at the customer’s site.
Effective environmental and climate protection as well as the responsible use of natural resources are a central concern for us at NOBELMIN GmbH. A key lever for environmental protection and resource conservation is the efficient use of materials and energy – from product development through manufacturing and distribution to application at the customer’s site.
The use of natural resources is also associated with certain risks, such as a shortage of required raw materials or negative environmental impacts from the extraction, processing and disposal of materials. In addition, rising prices for energy, materials, or waste disposal can impair competitiveness. NOBELMIN, therefore, optimizes its business processes from an ecological and economic point of view and designs them in such a way that fewer and fewer resources are required. Environmental aspects are also taken into account in product development in order to make downstream activities largely superfluous.
We rely on resource-saving technology in the refining of our ores.
When selecting manufacturing processes, NOBELMIN uses innovative technologies that have lower energy consumption than conventional processes in the course of micronizing talc. By using state-of-the-art technology in combination with digitalized processes, we can significantly reduce energy requirements compared to traditional milling processes and achieve our goal of resource-efficient and environmentally friendly milling.
